Wondering about ways you can help?

Let’s face it - things are tough out there. Between rising living costs, bills stacking up, and trying to keep up with daily life, sometimes it feels like there’s just nothing left to give. We get it. Truly.

But if you're passionate about helping people stay in school, work, sports, and get products to those who need them most, there are still ways to back the cause, even when funds are tight. Because the fight against period poverty? It's powered by people like you.

If you’re wondering about some ways you can lend a hand and help to get period products to people desperately in need - here’s how you can jump in:

1. Donate - even a little makes a big difference

$5 might not seem like much, but it can buy a pack of period products for someone who desperately needs them. And $10 could cover a full period pack for a whole month. So if you’re keen to make a difference and have a few bucks to spare - you can donate directly via our website at www.theperiodplace.org/donate.

2. Volunteer your time

We always need helping hands! Packing period packs, helping with deliveries, supporting events - it all adds up to massive impact. A few hours of your time can mean hundreds of products sorted and delivered to community centres, marae, sports clubs, and shelters around Aotearoa.

And if you have a special skill you reckon would help us out - we’re all ears!

3. Share our kaupapa

One of the easiest ways you can support us in our mahi is by sharing our posts, tagging your friends, or telling your community about the work we do. Literally just chucking one of our posts on your story, or sharing a post with someone who might be able to help us out - it helps us grow our reach and amplify the impact. Every share = more people reached. And the more people are aware of the work we do and why - the more people know about period inequity in Aotearoa.

4. Have the korero

Talk about periods. With your friends. Your kids. Your workplace. Ask questions, share your story, and begin the discussion. Every conversation helps chip away at the stigma that still keeps so many people silent and struggling.

You don’t have to do everything - but you can do something.

Every small act of kindness - whether it's a donation, a share, a conversation, or a volunteer shift - helps change the story for someone.
